Our Mission

To give every child in the UAE a brighter, smartphone free childhood by catalysing change at home, in school and across our communities.

Our key objectives

We are on a mission to give our children back their childhood - taking action to achieve three key objectives....

#1
Delay access to smartphones & social media until 16

The evidence is clear, children should not have unrestricted access to the internet in their pockets.

Make all UAE schools smartphone free

Delay giving smartphones to our children until 16

Raise social media age restrictions from 12 to 16

Tablet Learning

#2
Ensure only meaningful use of technology in education

It’s important for children to be digitally literate, but unnecessary screentime should be eliminated.

Delay school-mandated ‘bring your own devices’ until at least year 5

Build educator capabilities & adopt an educational technology framework (e.g., ISTE, UNESCO ICT)

#3
Give children freedom & responsibility in the real world

'We have over-protected our children in the real world whilst under-protecting them online.'*

Limit daily screentime (international guidelines state max of 2hrs per day for primary & secondary) to refocus on social connections in the real world

Give children more free play, unsupervised by adults, to help them develop essential life skills: grit, independence, and resourcefulness
